      ISPO World Congress reaches out to the African market for orthopaedic aids – For four days, 2,000 prosthetists, orthotists, doctors, therapists and engineers met in Cape Town to discuss the future development of treatments using orthopaedic aids like prostheses and orthoses and other Assistive Health Technology. Particular emphasis was given at this year’s World Congress of the International Society for Prosthetics & Orthotics (ISPO) reaching out to the health services in Africa and for the companies to the African market. A particular goal was to raise awareness of the need to provide treatment for every person with a disability.

    • ISPO 16th World Congress

      16th ISPO World Congress opens in Cape Town – After Lyon in 2015, the World Congress of the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO) is, this time, taking place from 8 to 11 May 2017 in South Africa, one of the world’s threshold nations. The exhibition space in the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) is fully booked, with some 120 exhibitors from 31 different countries. Alongside innovative developments in the orthopaedic technology sector, there will be a focus, in both the congress and the trade exhibition, on the all-round treatment of people with disabilities.

      Innovations of the cosmetics supplying industry: report on new products at CosmeticBusiness 2017 – More than 400 exhibitors and represented companies will be introducing their innovative new solutions for future product ideas in the cosmetics industry at CosmeticBusiness 2017. A large number of new products – from areas that include raw materials, manufacturing and packaging – will be waiting for visitors to the international trade fair of the cosmetics supplying industry on 21 and 22 June in the MOC Events Centre in Munich.

      More visitors, more exhibitors, more political discussions – For three days, the Leipzig Fair & Exhibition Centre was in movement – in the truest sense of the word. In all, 16,100 (2015: 15,300) physiotherapists and ergotherapists, speech therapists, medical practitioners, sports therapists and sports scientists met at therapie Leipzig, to discover new therapeutic approaches or to deepen their existing knowledge. Interdisciplinary, evidence-based and practice-oriented were the buzzwords. Additional discussion covered current developments in health and career policy on the part of the associations for therapeutic products and treatments and representatives of the German Parliament. The focus was on subjects such as remuneration and the promotion of academic standards.

      New training congress with industry exhibition for orthopaedic and rehabilitation technology in Russia – Leipziger Messe International (LMI) has created a totally new event format for orthopaedic technology in Russia. LMI has succeeded in involving all market stakeholders among both suppliers and buyers from all over Russia in the development of the Russian Forum on Prosthetics & Orthotics. Until now, training courses in orthopaedic and rehabilitation technology in Russia have been few and far between, meaning there is a huge demand for further training and interdisciplinary dialogue among technicians, doctors and therapists. The new concept responds to this by setting up a training and development platform.

      “A festival such as exists nowhere else in the world”: – The book and media industry is undergoing rapid change. “In Leipzig, however, the 285,000 visitors to the Leipzig Book Fair 2017 and the Leipzig liest reading festival once again demonstrated just how vibrant readers’ interest is in books and those who make books,” explains Martin Buhl-Wagner, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe.

      CosmeticBusiness 2017 with broad conference programme – CosmeticBusiness 2017 takes place from 21 to 22 June. In addition to the comprehensive range of products at the trade fair, the supporting conference programme provides an overview of the cosmetics industry and its supplying industry in terms of new developments and innovation too. The main topics include increasing digitalisation trends in beauty, colour and materials and how political developments are affecting the sector. As part of this conference programme the German Cosmetic, Toiletry, Perfumery and Detergent Association (Industrieverband Körperpflege- und Waschmittel e.V. – IKW) is organising an information event for the first time.

      EuroShop 2017: FAIRNET returns with a positive report and an award in the luggage – The appearance of FAIRNET at EuroShop 2017, the world's largest retail trade fair in Düsseldorf, has so far been the most successful trade fair for the Leipzig-based all-round service providers for communication. A trade fair stand that was well thought-out to the smallest detail and which invited visitors to immerse themselves in a dazzling underwater world, garnered a lot of attention and a positive response from customers and potential new customers, as well as the national and international trade audience. The trade fair stand received the EXHIBITOR Magazine's 2017 EuroShop Award for the best stand in the “Medium Stand” category.

    • Intec, Z

      3/10/17

      Intec and Z strengthen their position and report an increase in visitors in attendance – Leipzig’s Intec and Z close their doors again while posting an increase in visitors: 24,200 visitors from 35 countries (2015: 23,500 visitors from 35 countries) came from March 7 to 10 to the Leipziger Messe. During this year’s iteration of the trade fair combination, 1,382 exhibitors from 30 countries (2015: 1,433 exhibitors from 33 countries) were on hand to present their range of products and services relating to metal processing and supply industry. Both exhibitors and visitors were very satisfied with the Intec and Z 2017.
