DreamHack Leipzig 2020 and First Esports-Highlights
Tomorrow at 2 pm tickets for DreamHack Leipzig will go on sale - both for Germany's Largest LAN party and for the regular event. The gaming festival has three spectacular Esports highlights to offer: the DreamHack Open with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Clash of Nations: Rainbow Six Siege and Farming Simulator League. Additionally, fans should look forward to the return of the German Casemod Championship (DCMM), innovations in hardware and software at DreamExpo and popular events such as the big Cosplay Contest.
Counter-Strike: After two long years, Global Offensive returns to Leipzig as an international tournament. The DreamHack Open Tournament at DreamHack Leipzig marks the start of a brand new series of tournaments organized jointly by DreamHack AB and the Electronic Sports League (ESL). As an "ESL PRO TOUR", the series will include over 20 tournaments in different countries next year, where the teams can qualify for two major Masters Championships. Details on the prize money and teams at DreamHack Leipzig will be announced in the coming weeks.
Another highlight at the upcoming DreamHack Leipzig is the Clash of Nations powered by XMG, played in the tactical first-person shooter Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. This brand-new tournament format started in the summer with national tournaments in Germany and Switzerland, where the winners qualified for Ubisoft's Clash of Nations in Leipzig. In October the Austrian Nationals will decide who will represent Austria. In the Clash of Nations Grand Finals at DreamHack Leipzig, the best of the best from each country will battle it out for the title of champion and the €30,000 in prize money.
That's not all, the Farming Simulator League is another highlight that awaits visitors at DreamHack Leipzig. Players of the popular agricultural simulator will compete over two days. On the first day, the teams that qualify at Germany's biggest LAN party will compete against the established Farming Simulator League teams. On the second day, the top 8 teams will play for prizes worth a total of €12,000 and league points that qualify them for the World Cup to be held in summer 2020.
DreamHack Leipzig is a community gathering for gamers 12 and up
DreamHack Leipzig will also be open to gaming fans 12 and up next year. There will be an exclusive area for visitors 16 and up featuring the DreamHack Open in CS:GO. Next year, the Event Stage's Cosplay Contest, which always draws a crowd, will be moving to the 12 and up area and the Stream Area will also be open to both age groups. Now even those under 16 have the opportunity to meet their favorite streamers and watch them up close.
Likewise, the Farming Simulator League tournament and the German Casemod Championship (DCMM), scheduled to take place again next year, are open to visitors 12 and up. Festival visitors should look forward to awesome hardware creations and watching as new amazingly unique pieces are created right in front of their eyes at DreamHack Leipzig. Competitors will demonstrate their skills in the CaseMods (Case Modification - modified computer cases from industrial series production), CaseCons (Case Construction - self-designed and built cases), CE-Mods (Consumer Electronics - modified other cases, excluding computers) and in the Livemodding-Challenge. Spectators will be able to vote for their favorite entries in the "Most spectacular creation" and "Germany's most beautiful BeautyCase" categories. In addition and for the first time, there will also be a "LAN category" and an on-site visitor modding event where festival visitors can show off their own modding skills.
Germany's Largest LAN Party
This marks the fifth time that DreamHack Leipzig will be the venue for Germany's largest LAN party, where participants can play together and against each other for 56 hours. Players can compete in numerous tournaments and, in addition to fame and glory, they can also win great prizes or even qualify for the Farming Simulator League tournament at DreamExpo.
Please note: Entry to the LAN and the Clash of Nations is only granted to those 18 years of age or older and the DreamExpo to those 12 years of age or older. Events that take place in the exclusive area only for those 16 and up will be marked accordingly on the DreamHack-Leipzig website well in advance.
