New paths to success at the CosmeticBusiness
Innovations, sustainability, and trends in the spotlight of the conference programme
"Turn trends into business" is the CosmeticBusiness' slogan for the 15h edition. Identifying trends at an early stage, developing relevant innovations, and producing and selling them sustainably - these are three of the most important secrets to success for the cosmetics industry and its suppliers. This is why the focus of the two-day conference programme of the international trade fair for the cosmetics supplier industry at MOC Munich from 5 to 6 June will be on innovations, sustainability and trends. In addition to the lectures and workshops in the conference programme, the new Innovation Route and Green Route at the fully booked exhibition will literally mark the path to tomorrow's success.
The first day of the conference programme is dedicated to the topic of innovations. There are three ways for visitors to familiarise themselves with selected innovations from over 420 CosmeticBusiness exhibitors and represented companies. During the entire fair, Hall 1 will showcase the SPOTLIGHT special show with new exhibitor products to inspire visitors - covering everything from new ingredients and packaging solutions to colours for the 2020 season and innovative cosmetic products. Some exhibitors will also present their innovations in half-hour presentations on the first day of the fair. The new Innovation Route will keep visitors on the track to innovations: it will lead visitors from the themed hall plans in the trade fair guide to innovations at the trade fair. These innovations include everything needed for the development and marketing of cosmetic products - from ingredients to production and packaging.
From Trend to Successful Product
True to the motto "Turn trends into business" CosmeticBusiness will be offering lectures by trend researcher and colour expert Niels Holger Wien and specialists from Carlin, Euromonitor and Seppic on tomorrow's trends on the 2nd day of the trade fair. Niels Holger Wien will kick off the event in the conference room K3 at 11 am with his lecture "Prospects 2020 Beyond" on contemporary impulses and colour and material worlds. Afterwards, the raw materials company Seppic will take the audience on a world tour of beauty trends in its lecture "Geotrends". The market research institute Euromonitor will concentrate on trends that are driving the market in decorative cosmetics during its 2 pm lecture. The trend agency Carlin will be holding workshops twice a day on both days of the fair titled "How trends can impact my decisions on colour: brand, packaging, product". Through direct dialogue with Carlin's experts, visitors can exchange ideas and learn how to translate trends into concrete products.
Megatrend Sustainability in Conference Programme and Exhibition
Originally regarded as a niche market, products that are produced and distributed sustainably are now considered a megatrend. This is why the conference programme will address the topic in two ways on the afternoon of June 6. An analyst from the market research company Euromonitor will show on the basis of best practices what pioneers in the cosmetics industry are already doing in the field of sustainability today and what approaches will be necessary in the future to expand efforts worldwide. Packaging expert Andreas Schubert from the Hamburg-based creative agency brandpack will talk about the balancing act between the new natural, biological, sustainable, and often vegan lifestyle and the demand for high-quality product presentation. How can brand-name companies manage this balancing act while maintaining their credibility, and what can they expect from a packaging design agency? He will talk about these questions starting at 4:15 pm. Which sustainable products, raw materials or packaging do the exhibitors at CosmeticBusiness have up their sleeves? CosmeticBusiness's new Green Route provides the answers. It identifies exhibitors with sustainable offers for visitors' convenience in the trade fair guide and online exhibitor directory. The reason for this is that 60 per cent of the trade fair visitors surveyed at the last CosmeticBusiness in June 2018 stated that they were looking specifically for ecological and sustainable offers.
Europe's Largest Cosmetics Market at a Glance
The final speech of the conference programme will be made by Birgit Huber, Deputy Managing Director of the Industrieverband Körperpflege- und Waschmittel (IKW - German Association of Body Care and Detergents) and will examine Germany as the largest cosmetics market in Europe. In 2018, consumers in Germany spent 13.8 billion euros on beauty and ‐household care products, a 1.8 per cent increase from the year before. But will this positive development continue in the coming years? How will young people's consumption behaviour be in the future? In Munich, Birgit Huber will not only be presenting the German cosmetics market, but also the results of three depth psychological-representative studies on youth and body care commissioned by the IKW.
Initiating Sales Partnerships with Matchmaking Sessions
The matchmaking event in the Distributors Lounge, which is taking place for the second time this year, makes the trade fair even more valuable for cosmetics companies looking for sales partners in German-speaking countries. Matchmaking sessions for suppliers and distributors of cosmetic brands will take place on June 6. Interested brands and distributors can register for the matchmaking sessions free of charge via the CosmeticBusiness website.
Visitor registration for free admission to the trade fair and the conference programme is still possible until the end of March.
In 2018, 419 exhibitors and represented companies from Germany and abroad presented themselves at CosmeticBusiness, the international trade fair for the cosmetics supplying industry. CosmeticBusiness is the only international trade fair in Europe where the cosmetics industry meets exclusively with its suppliers and finds solutions for the development of all cosmetic products from active ingredients to manufacture and packaging. As the only industry meeting place in Germany, the largest cosmetics market in Europe, the B2B trade fair exhibition is an indispensable trend barometer for decision-makers from management, product management and development, marketing, as well as purchasing and production. CosmeticBusiness 2019 takes place from 5 - 6 June at MOC Munich.
