Process Optimisation in Hospitals - Innovative and Practice-Oriented Solutions
Call for Papers open / Leipzig Innovation Prize for Hospital Logistics goes into the third round / med.Logistica moves from CCL to hall
As a congress and trade fair, med.Logistica is dedicated exclusively and comprehensively to hospital process optimisation. Every other year in Leipzig, leading clinic experts have the opportunity to obtain valuable information and advice on the most important specialist issues. Last year med.Logistica once again closed with record results. Hospital logistics experts from Germany, Austria and Switzerland have created a unique and very special forum at the event. Consequently, 97 per cent of the participants are planning to return in 2021. The event will therefore be moved from the Congress Center to the Leipziger Messe halls in order to meet increased capacity. The Call for Papers and the submissions for the Leipzig Innovation Prize for Hospital Logistics is now open.
med.Logistica spans all aspects of hospital management including procurement, the flow of people, materials and information as well as disposal. The focus is on the exchange of information between hospital decision-makers and with providers of logistics services as well as innovative products.
One outstanding feature of the congress is the presentation of practical solutions. Decision-makers from clinics use actual projects to show how they organise the processes in their hospitals efficiently and with high quality. This also includes topics such as digitalisation and automation, as well as sustainable design of processes for clinical and associated out-of-hospital areas. Parts of the congress will be simultaneously interpreted into English. The trade fair covers a wide range of products and services, from procurement management to patient logistics and disposal.
Novel Combination of Trade Fair and Congress
med.Logistica has grown steadily in recent years, both for exhibitors and visitors. In a survey at med.Logistica 2019, 97% of the participants stated that they would return. For capacity reasons, med.Logistica 2021 will take place in the exhibition hall for the first time. The hall offers optimal air-conditioned surroundings, ideal conditions for setting-up and dismantling as well as new possibilities for the presentation of service portfolios at the exhibition stands. Congress rooms and open forums for lectures and discussions are planned in the middle of the trade fair to further strengthen networking and shorten distances.
Call for Papers: from Purchasing to Surgical Logistics to Disposal
All experts in the industry are cordially invited to present problem solutions, transferrable practice experiences, current results from research and development as well as their implementation at the 2021 med.Logistica conference programme - submissions are now open through Call for Papers. The submission deadline is 23 October 2020.
There is a demand for the competence and know-how from all those involved in hospital logistics and their respective fields of expertise. This also includes topics such as digitalisation and automation, as well as sustainable design of processes for clinical and associated out-of-hospital areas. The programme advisory board, made up of renowned experts from all over Germany, will decide on the final programme in November this year.
ANNOUNCEMENT: Leipzig Innovation Prize for Hospital Logistics
The Leipzig Innovation Prize for Hospital Logistics is awarded every two years at med.Logistica. The 6,000 euro award for particularly innovative logistics projects in the healthcare sector was created by the exhibitor and programme advisory board of med.Logistica and Leipziger Messe GmbH, and awarded for the first time in 2017. A jury of experts from science, industry and practice chooses the winner. The selection criteria include innovative strength, practical relevance, quantifiable benefits and sustainability, multiplication effects, potential in terms of economics and quality, and patient benefits and safety. The Thesis Award for Young Talents is aimed specifically at graduates: It honours outstanding student theses on process optimisation in healthcare and has a 1,000 euro prize. Submission is also possible via the Call for Papers of med.Logistica 2021 until 23 October 2020.
In 2019, the Leipzig Prize for Hospital Logistics went to Dr med Christine Fuchs, MBA, Managing Director of the Lübbecke-Rahden Hospital, Mühlenkreiskliniken AöR, and Dr-Ing Marco Emmermann, Managing Partner of Visality Consulting GmbH.
